Our History

For over a Century, Cooney Funeral Home has been serving the northside neighborhoods of Chicago and the surrounding northern suburban communities with compassionate care and understanding. The journey began when we first opened the doors to our funeral parlor on the corner of Marshfield and Addison, the year 1922. Over the years that followed, we moved throughout the northside; to 3552 N. Southport Ave., on to 3918 W. Irving Park Rd. and at our current location 625 Busse Highway in Park Ridge. Although our address may have changed over these many years, the level of compassionate care, understanding and commitment never wavered.

Cooney funeral home is far more than the brick and mortar that we occupy, we are a family just like yours. We have our share of ups and downs, and we know what it means to rally together in a time of need, that is something we do best. Providing support, listening attentively when others express their needs while extending a hand to hold and arms to embrace.

When time allows, take a moment to stop in, the door is always open, coffee will be on and we can get to know each other like neighbors should. A member of our staff is always available to assist you and your family in your time of need. it has been our personal privilege to serve you since 1922.
