Will,
You know how much both of you mean to me. I am still praying for you in this, the toughest time in your life.
I'm always here for you.

Dear Bill:
I am writing to you as if you were still here.  I am trying not to cry in front of a class I am teaching right now.  I was so sad to hear that you are no longer with us.  I worked for you at the Cubs for a couple seasons only then moved down to the ticket office.  My life has taken many twists and turns, but I will never forget how much I enjoyed working for you and the respect I felt.  You were one of the few men in the "business" that treated women like we had a brain and could contribute to this wonderful game of baseball.  I laughed and was intrigued when you would explain scouting reports and you were so understanding when I couldn't pronounce those minor leaguers' names.

What a fun staff and office we had.  I am glad we could still converse no matter where I worked.  I would see you from time to time sitting in the good seats with your radar and you never hesitated to talk and ask about how I was.  I always wondered what it was like for your kids to not be able to see you when you were so busy living the scouting life.  Everyone you saw it seemed was genuinely glad to see you and interested in what you had to say.

I am so sorry for your family and all the times they will miss with you.  You were way too young to leave this place.  I can only assume you left great memories for many, and hopefully you had amazing seats for the series - GO CUBS!  You left an amazing imprint for the organization and to all of us that are shedding tears for a life that touched so many.

Sending prayers and sympathy to your family Bill

Dearest Kathleen and Will, 0ur hearts are truly broken over the death of your much loved Dad. He was our nephew; the son of our brother and sister-in-law, Jean and Bill Harford, your grandparents. 0ur memories of Bill are numerous and precious. Jeannie and Bob have kept us informed of the devotion you showed Bill through his lifetime and through the painful months of his final days. You were both his proudest legacy.  Our son, Michael, will be at the funeral service for  Bill on Saturday. Please know that he represents the feelings of deepest love from all Harfords: especially those of his Aunt Mary Jane and Uncle Mike. God bless.
