Message from Richie Jr (son)
December 3, 2017 12:28 PM

As I write this,
I am Strong,
I am Confident,
But most of all
I am Sober...
Today begins yet another new chapter in my life... I will certainly miss my Father, but I will always have the memories of the good life He and my Mother provided me and my Sister with. He instilled Great values in us.
Integrity, Pride and Courage...
He Made me the Man I am Today and I will be forever Grateful.
Our Father was a Resilient Man, never giving up. He was a Strong Man, never wearing his Emotions on his sleeve, never showing fear.. He was a Tough Son of a Bitch, but deep down he had one of the biggest, Unselfish Hearts any Man could ever have.. Watching him as I grew up, taught me that if you worked hard and took pride in what you did, you could live a Happy and Fulfilling Life.. Something He and my Mother surely did..He was a great husband to my Mother..They were inseparable, together for 60 years. Somewhere though I lost my way and veered off track.. but by the Grace of God, I was able to reenter his final days and make the amends I needed to make.. I will Cherish these final days that I had with him..He is in a much better place now with no more suffering.. Today I become the new Patriarch of this Family .. Its my Time to be a Leader and help take Care of my Mother and this family and step up to be the Man my Father made me to be..
To be the Father to my Son as my Father was to me.
But know this, I would never have been able to take this position if it weren't for the Loving Support of my Friends and my Recovery Family and most of all the never give up "Hope" Attitude that My Father taught me..
I will sorely miss you Dad!!!
One thing I can promise you
I will continue to make you
Proud of the Son you raised..
May the longtime sun shine upon you.
All Love surround you.
And the pure life within you
Guide you on your way..
May You Rest in Peace and look down upon us with a Smile.
I Love you Dad!!!!!

To my cousin Sandy, One story that I remember my dad always telling me is. Dad would go over to babysit. And how much fun you both had. I know he used to say. You would call out for him. Uncle Fishy it's uncle fishy. My mother chimed in and said you were so little you couldn't say Richie..... Love the Reibel's

Love and will miss you deeply! Can't ever remember us ever arguing, One thing I'll always remember is riding, racing down Damen Ave in your Mercury convertible! So much joy when you and sister Jan would visit. Good bye for now my brother-in-law and friend.

Thank you so much Uncle Eddie. I know my father deeply wanted to be there this year. There was a high priority. Now I know why. I wish I could have helped my father make that trip. My father always talked about both of you working out in your shop together. I know for a fact he truly enjoyed helping you. I know my parents highlight was always coming to see you both...... Love you both Barbara
