Thomas J. Sullivan

Thomas J. Sullivan, 83, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 14. Thomas was born November 14, 1939 to Stephen and Barbara (Griffin) Sullivan in Rosmuc, County Galway, Ireland. Devoted and loving husband for 55 years to Ann Sullivan nee McGuire. Loving father to Noreen Pavlis, Barbara (Thomas) Van Etten, Kathleen (Thomas) Gaertner, and Amy. Proud Dado to 12 grandchildren; Anne Marie, Brian, Erin, Bridget, Maeve, Kate, Meaghan, Connor, Tommy, Billy, Elle, and Griffin. Loyal and devoted brother to the late Paddy Sullivan, Maureen (the late Hans) Schwarz, Steve (Maureen) Sullivan, Ann (the late Tommy) Ffrench, Michael (Paula) Sullivan, Brid (Jim) Walsh, and Barbara (the late Sean) Nee. Fond uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Tom dedicated his life to his family. He worked hard and was proud of his long career as a labor foreman building caissons for some of Chicago’s largest skyscrapers. In retirement, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed winters in Marco Island. His beautiful voice and love of singing was enjoyed by family and friends. He was a one-of-a-kind storyteller and brought joy and laughter to everyone he met.

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Brebeuf Church located at 8307 N. Harlem Ave. in Niles. Interment private.
