Rose Elina Blaise passed away peacefully at home on February 8, 2021 surrounded by family.
She was born on May 22, 1935 in Fond-des-Blancs, Haiti, youngest daughter of the late Aristide and Fisrel Bernadel.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years. Michel Joseph Blaise and her eldest brother, Laceus Jerome.
Rose Elina is survived by her four beloved children; Jasmine Blaise, Michelle Blaise, FitzGerald Blaise and George (Michilla) Blaise, her loving grandchildren Scarlett and Rio Blaise, her sister Arismene (Louis) Charles, Sr., her brothers Alberto (Fernande) Bernadel, Joseph “Acelmo” (Gisele) Bernadel, and Admira (Janine) Bernadel and numerous nieces and nephews all of whom she loved dearly.
She immigrated to the United States in 1968 where she created a wonderful life for her family and contributed to her community. Rose Elina loved to travel and visited France, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Greece, Mexico, Canada, China as well numerous Caribbean islands. She also enjoyed sewing, especially delighted in creating new outfits for her granddaughters. She cherished her friends and was loved by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 between 10:00 a.m. —12:00pm (Noon) with a funeral service at 10:45 a.m. at Cooney Funeral Home located at 3918 W. Irving Park Road in Chicago. The family understands that in light of our current COVID-19 environment, that many who would wish to be with us will only be able to be with us in spirit.
