Rosalina Lopez

Rosalina “Rosa” Lopez (nee Valencia) of Des Plaines, IL, passed away at Evanston Hospital after a valiant battle with cancer on September 6, 2025 at the young age of 55.

In her lifetime, Rosa was defined by her devotion to the five "F" words: Family, Friends, Flowers, Food, and Fun. She loved spending time with her friends and family, and the dinner table was always a place of laughter and love. She spent her free time dancing, shopping, cuddling her favorite fur baby, Bella, and always living life to the fullest. Rosa’s lively spirit was evident to all who knew her. She was always all smiles, laughing, and would light up all the rooms with her contagious laughter.

Rosa is survived by her children, Vivian Lopez, Christian Lopez (Camila), Jorge Lopez Jr., Ninel Guadalupe, Bryan Lopez; her parents, Javier & Maria Estela Valencia; her siblings, Yolanda, Francisco, Cecilia, Jose, and Hugo. An abundance of nieces and nephews, and a great niece and great nephew.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 10, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Cooney Funeral Home in Park Ridge, IL. Funeral Mass on Thursday, September 11 at 10:00am at The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Interment at All Saints Cemetery.
