Robert F. Ewald, 98 years of age, passed away on March 17th, 2023. Bob was born May 5th, 1924, to the late Frederick and Florence Ewald in Newark, New Jersey. He was married to his beloved wife Jeanine and was the proud father of the late George, the late Jack (Laura), the late William, the late Robert, and Steven (Karen), loving grandfather of Arley Hoynoski (Steve) and Kristina Allen (Ryan) and his great-grandchildren Aiden, Winter, and Aurora. He cared deeply for his late brother William and his nephews Michael and the late David, as well as Jeanine’s family, and those he would consider family by affection. He will be greatly missed.
Bob grew up in New Jersey and Utah during the depression and served in the Pacific campaign of World War II before finishing his degree at Rutgers University. He traveled across the US in his younger years and would eagerly share those collected experiences, hard lessons, and knowledge as he grew older. His life would change most notably for the better when he married Jeanine and established roots in Park Ridge in 1976.
In his long professional career, he welcomed each new challenge and adapted as best one could, while counting many of his colleagues among his friends. Still, he valued integrity above all else.
Bob was an avid reader, endlessly curious, tirelessly focused, and limitlessly kind.
