Pedro Vegiani Obituary

On Monday, February 15, 2021 Pedro Arcangel Vegiani, loving husband of Esther Manuela and father of Alicia Gimenez, passed at the age of 91.

Pedro was born on November 13, 1929  in Buenos Aires, Argentina to Bruno and Genoveva (Brunetti) Vegiani. On December 9, 1950 he married Esther Manuela Savoy, and they raised their daughter, Alicia Susana in Buenos Aires as well.

In October of 1979, Pedro and Manuela embarked on their journey to the US,making Chicago their new home. Although he left his eleven siblings, friends, and fifty years of growth in Buenos Aires, it was always his home and he carried it deeply in his heart. Through his years in Chicago Pedro loved traveling with his wife. From trips to Las Vegas, Mexico, the Carribean, Spain - and of course - always going back home to Buenos Aires. He was a true baby whisper with his melodic lullabies and renditions of Tango. His arms were the perfect amount of coziness for a midafternoon snooze fest. Let us not forget his passion for fútbol and his idol, Messi y el Barca.

Pedro is survived by his wife, Esther Manuela; his daughter Alicia; son-in-law Mario; granddaughters Sabrina and Ximena, and their husbands Randy and Cesar; great grandchildren Julian, Mila and Lucia.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. with a service at 5:00 p.m. at Cooney Funeral Home located at 3918 W. Irving Park Rd. in Chicago. For information please call 773-588-5850 or visit www.cooneyfuneralhome.com
