Patrick J. Brennan, age 45, of Chicago, IL passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on January 28, 2024 after a four year battle with colon cancer. Pat was married to Eileen (Haugh) for 17 wonderful years and was a father to their five cherished children, Patrick (13), Declan (12), Eamon (9), Cora (6) and Colette (4) as well as their late daughter Neave.
Pat is survived by his parents Eileen (Murphy) and Edward Brennan (Ret. C.P.D), as well as his brothers Edward (Wendy), Martin C.P.D. (Colleen) and James (Meaghan). He was a beloved uncle, cousin, nephew and friend to many. Pat attended St. Eugene Elementary School and Notre Dame College Prep. He earned the distinction of an Evans Scholar at Northern Illinois University and went on to receive a law degree from John Marshall Law School.
Pat dedicated 24 years of his life as a devoted Chicago Police Officer where he earned the prestigious Life Saving Award and played many different roles including law instructor at the Chicago Police Academy, working for the Superintendent in Legal Affairs, and being on many specialized teams. His commitment to upholding the law was a testament to his strength, compassion and unwavering integrity.
Patrick J. Brennan held many impressive titles, but the ones he was most proud of were husband and father. Although he left us far too soon, his legacy is truly everlasting.
