Madayag MD, Manuel A. (“Manny”).Dr. Manuel A. Madayag loving husband and father of four children, died at his home at the age of 83, on the 25th March 2021. Manuel was born in Baguio, Philippines, on the 21st November 1937, the son of Teodorico and Maria (Aban) Madayag. He graduated from the University of Santo Thomas medical school (Manila) in 1961 and emigrated to the US in 1964. Manny worked at NYU medical center in Manhattan, NY for 10 years, and Illinois Masonic, Chicago for 25 years. He was board certified in diagnostic radiology and interventional radiology and was a diplomate of the American Board of Radiology, and a Fellow of both the American College of Radiology and Society of Interventional Radiology. In March 1966, he married Catherine Guerrin in Brooklyn NY, and raised four children; two sons, Robert and Edward; and two daughters, Maryann and Kathleen. Manny was devoted to his work as an interventional radiologist and was the inventor of the Madayag biopsy needle. After retiring from Illinois Masonic, he continued his work at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Manila, the Philippines where he was the first Chair of the Radiology Department. He was an avid sportsman, playing tennis regularly, as well as golf which became a lifelong passion. He will be remembered for his wise counsel, hard-work, generous spirit, and amazing smile. Manuel was a much-beloved husband, father, and brother, and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A service will be held at St Clement's Church on Wednesday 31st March 2021 at 10:30 am.
