Kevin Doyle Cooney of Chicago, IL, passed away from complications with cystic fibrosis on December 10, 2022 while surrounded by his loving family. He was 30 years old. The first son of Kevin V. and Kathleen Cooney, Kevin was born on December 18, 1991.
Kevin was raised alongside his siblings, Jack, Danny, and Maeve in Western Springs, IL. Kevin was a graduate of St. John of the Cross (‘06), Fenwick High School (‘10), and Marquette University (‘14). As an enthusiastic supporter of Catholic education, Kevin also possessed a fanatical devotion to the University of Notre Dame, particularly to their football team. Kevin held a lifelong passion for sports and excelled as a member of the basketball, football, and lacrosse teams at SJC and Fenwick.
Kevin graduated from Marquette with a dual degree in finance and real estate and enjoyed a successful career servicing the Chicagoland commercial real estate market, most recently with NAI Hiffman.
Kevin was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ and is survived by his parents, Kevin Vincent and Kathleen Doyle; his siblings John Martin and his wife Olivia Anne, Daniel Gibbons, and Maeve Kathleen; his aunts and uncles Colleen and Eugene, Brian and Deborah, Michael and Cynthia, Sean and Margaret, Martin and Courtney, Gregory and Julie, and Neil and Joanie; his cousins John Doyle, his wife, Madison, and their son, Jack; Patrick and his wife, Kylie; Patrick, his wife, Daniela, and their daughter, Mae; Michael, Abigail, Tara and her husband, Randall; Conor and his fiancé, Molly; Siobhan and her fiancé, Daniel; Claire and her husband, Joseph, Maureen, Brian, Liam, Ensign Jacquelyn Doyle (U.S. Navy), Lally, Caroline, Matthew, Brendan, Hayden, Davoren, Declan, and Colin.
Kevin is preceded in glory by his grandparents Martin and Maureen, and John and Mary, and his uncle Philip.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at St. John of the Cross Church located at 5005 Wolf Rd. in Western Springs, IL.
