Kathryn ‘Katie’ Spielmann

Kathryn “Katie” Spielmann, 96 years young, passed away August 18, 2025.  Born August 4, 1929 at Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL.  She lived almost her entire life in Park Ridge, IL.

Loving daughter of the late Harold J. Spielmann and the late Kathryn Cox Spielmann and sister of the late Peter Spielmann.  Survived by her cousin Susan (Spielmann) Beckner and her husband Gary Beckner. 

Katie graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Carleton College, Northfield, MN and spent most of her careerworking at Marshall Field’s (downtown Chicago) as a buyer in the infants and toddlers’ department.  She played bridge with her high school friends for many years and was a loving caregiver to her grandmother, mother, and great-aunt.

Visitation and service will be Friday, August 22, 2025 from 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. at Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Hwy., Park Ridge, IL. Interment to follow at Town of Maine Cemetery, 2101 W. Touhy Ave., Park Ridge, IL.
