Kathleen Cooke

Kathleen Ellen Cooke, age 84, of Hoffman Estates, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH.  Kathleen was the daughter of William and Mary Ann Gavin and was born June. 11, 1937. On June 29th, 1957 she married her beloved husband, John K. Cooke. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Mary Ellen, William, and Nancy. Kathleen enjoyed many hobbies including Irish dancing, golf, cooking, sewing, crossword puzzles, and others, but her greatest love was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson who adored and cherished her. Kathleen is survived by her children, Mary Ellen (Dean) Elkins, William (Joanne) Cooke, and Nancy McCreary; her grandchildren, Justin Elkins, Kaylee (Michael) Csiky, Molly Elkins, Jenna McCreary, Sean Elkins, and Connor McCreary; her great-grandson, Emmett Csiky; her siblings, Virginia (William) Cooke, Martin (Jeanie) Gavin, and Patrick Gavin. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Ann (nee O’Grady) Gavin; her husband, John K. Cooke; her siblings, William Gavin, John (Patricia) Gavin, Michael Gavin, Noreen (Jim) Penny, and James Gavin. Visitation will be at Cooney Funeral Home, 625 N. Busse Highway, Park Ridge, on Sunday, October 17th, 2021, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, October 18th, at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, proceeding to St. Matthew Church in Schaumburg, for Mass at 10:30 a.m. A livestream of Mass can be viewed at http://www.facebook.com/cooneyfuneralhomeInterment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
