Josephine Centeno

Josephine M. Centeno, “Josie,” Age 99, passed away peacefully at Bella Terra Schaumburg Skilled Care Nursing Home where she had become a resident just over one year ago. 

Loving Mom of Mary (Joseph J.) Kotz and the late Dominic J. Centeno. Grandmother of Joseph M. Kotz and Michael (Grace) Kotz. Great Grandmother of Leah, Joey, Emilia, and Connor. Beloved friend of many in the St. Gregory the Great Parish.

Josephine was born in Joliet, Illinois to her parents Domingo and Josephina. She had three brothers, Joseph Lopez, Leroy “Roy” Lopez, and Anthony Lopez all of whom preceded her in death. 

Before retiring at the age of 70, Josephine worked for a Candy Distributor in Downtown Chicago for many years. She was an extremely dependable and trusted employee, cherished by her employer and those she worked with.

Josephine was a devout Catholic, a strong and kindhearted woman, always willing to help or listen to those in need. She was loving and supportive of all her friends and family. She will be dearly missed but will never be forgotten.
