Joseph E. Schneider

On Friday May 14, 2021 Joseph E. Schneider a.k.a. Dr. Groovy, Honorable Veteran of the United States Air Force, loving husband of Willi Schneider, loving father of Linda Schneider-Jesser, Susan (Frank) D’Angelo, and Bonnie (Mike) Grahn, Jeff (Linda B.), Ryan (Nancy), and the late Doug. Grandfather of Jacob, Sam, Michael, Matthew H., Sarah (Eder), Amanda, Marlana, Lauren, Douglas (Allison), Eric (Roselyn), Jamie (Ashley), Matthew T., Jen, Lucas B. Great grandfather of nine. 

Loving fur baby Dad to Shadow, Chloe, and Schatzi- he referred to them as his “sweethearts”. He was a loving brother and brother in law to John & Zenta, Bill & Elaine, and Jimmy & Hilda.  The favorite Uncle and friend to many.

Joseph was born on January 17, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph & Minnie. On July 7, 1979 Joseph married the love of his life, Willi, and they spent 42 wonderful years together. He was an incredible husband, and a wonderful father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. Joseph was a lover of singing and practical jokes. He could light up a room with his smile and those sparkling blue eyes. His laugh was infectious to all those around him. You could always find him with a beer in hand, on the golf course playing the game he loved. 

Joseph was preceded in death by his son Doug, his three brothers John & Zenta, Bill & Elaine, and Jimmy. 

A memorial visitation will take place at Cooney Funeral Home located at 625 Busse Hwy. in Park Ridge on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rescue Tails Animal Welfare in Lincolnwood, Illinois. For information please call 847-685-1002 or visit www.cooneyfuneralhome.com
