James Kearns

It is with great sadness that the family of James Andrew Kearns announces his passing on September 4th
2024. Loving father of Adam and Natalie; father-in-law to Eddie; formerly married to Rosalie Miceli;
devoted son of the late Marilyn and Peter; dear brother (#7) to Kathleen, Peter, Kevin (Christine),
Maureen (Ron) Callahan, the late John, Michael, Therese (Christopher) Foley, Matthew (Mary), Patrick
(Jaqueline), and Daniel.
Born and raised in Chicago, James attended St. Andrew Catholic School and St. Benedict Preparatory
School where he wrestled and ran cross country. James was a jack of all trades holding many different
jobs but his most cherished was driving trucks across America making friends everywhere he stopped.
He loved motorcycles, camping, and collecting knives of all sorts. James loved to help others whether it
meant moving, building something, or being a shoulder to cry on. He always had something funny to
say, even if it was only funny to himself. And he was always prepared for anything- need a 10mm
socket? Got it. Need a sharpie? Not only got it but in 10 different colors too.
James loved to make people smile and laugh, so in honor of him, his family would like to hold a
visitation at Cooney Funeral Home at 625 Busse Highway, Park Ridge, Illinois on Saturday,
September 14, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
