Hugh Gilgunn

Hugh Gilgunn, 91, of Mt. Prospect, Illinois peacefully departed this life surrounded by his family on June
15, 2024. Born February 19, 1933 in Minkeeragh, Glenfarne, County Leitrim, Ireland, Hugh was the
beloved husband of Mary (nee Daly) of Clonmaskil, Delvin, County Westmeath, Ireland. Hugh was the
dearest father of Thomas (Kimberly), Matthew (Kathleen), Elizabeth and Hughie (Mary Alice). Proud
grandfather to Molly, Fiona, Brian, Ryan, Anthony and Grace Gilgunn. Cherished son of the late Thomas
and the late Mary Gilgunn. Loving brother to Molly (the late John Michael) McLoughlin, Susie (the late
Charlie) Travers, and Peggy (Pat) Griffin and predeceased by his loving brothers Thomas (Eileen), John
and devoted sister Alice (the late Jim) Feeney. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, relatives,
and friends. 
The visitation will be Saturday, 22 nd of June at 9:30 am. Mass at 11:00 am at St. Emily Church 1400 E
Central Road Mount Prospect followed by internment at All Saints Cemetery. A livestream of Mass can
