Grace Ann Gaughan (née Wrenn) passed away after an illness on August 28, 2021. Grace was born December 31, 1957 and raised in St. Ignatius Parish where she attended elementary school. She was a graduate of St. Scholastica Academy and received her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana, Champaign. She returned to her beloved Chicago hometown working as a realtor for 30 years with Koenig & Strey helping countless clients achieve their life goals.
A fierce animal advocate and proud “failed foster mom,” she worked tirelessly on the board of Rescue Me Clifford and The Horner Park Dog Park Association promoting animal rescue, adoption, and creating a dog park in her neighborhood.
She enjoyed spending time on the Southside with family, friends, and her favorite team, the Chicago White Sox. She had an unflappable zest for life and made countless, lifelong friends wherever she went.
Grace was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria R. Wrenn. She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Michael; her pride and joy, and daughter, Nora Kathleen; her father, Michael P. Wrenn; siblings Michael Joseph, Charles Francis (Dawn), and Catherine Gloria; her precious pups, Sophie and Atty; and her large extended Gaughan and Wrenn families.
Visitation is September 2, 2021 (2-8 PM) at Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Hwy, Park Ridge, IL. A funeral Mass is September 3, 2021 at 11 AM at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 2330 West Sunnyside Avenue, Chicago, IL.
