Frances Louise (Day) Martinelli

Frances Louise Martinelli was born February 01, 1959 to Ernest and Alice Day in Chicago IL. Frances was the third of five siblings. Frances is survived by her Mother and siblings Edward C. Day, Susan M. Jeske (Tom), Ronald L. Day (Justine), and Catherine L. Dopak.

Frances was a confirmed Catholic and attended Alvernia Catholic High School graduating in 1977. Frances then attended Ravenswood Nursing School where she obtained her Registered Nursing degree at the top of her class. Frances had a successful nursing career lasting over 40 years in the Chicagoland area.

Frances was united in Holy Matrimony with John Martinelli in the year of 1984. They were married for 13 years. Their union was blessed with 3 children Joseph J. Martinelli, Vincent L. Martinelli, Michael E. Martinelli.

Frances suddenly departed this life Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Community First Hospital in Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by her youngest son Michael E. Martinelli, father Ernest C. Day, and sister- in- law, Judy Day.

Frances (Francie) was deeply loved by many. Her interests included cooking, baking, camping and fishing with her sons, attending musical plays, knitting, gardening, and traveling to her family farm in Eastman, Wisconsin. Frances loved decorating and celebrating all holidays she was an excellent grandmother and loved spending her free time with her granddaughter, Sloan C. Martinelli. She loved giving gifts and helping others and listening to one of her favorite music artist Barry White.

Francie was upbeat with a kind soul. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children Joseph J. Martinelli, Vincent L. Martinelli (Nakita), her Granddaughter Sloan C. Martinelli her Mother, Alice M. Day her siblings Edward C. Day, Susan M. Jeske (Tom), Ronald L. Day (Justine), and Catherine L. Dopak along with many other devoted relatives and friends.

Visitation will take place at St. Viator Church (4170 W. Addison) from 9 a.m. to time of Mass at 10 a.m. on Saturday March 18.   Interment private.  Arrangements by Cooney Funeral Home 847-685-1002 www.cooneyfuneralhome.com
