Elmer Robert Vitek

Elmer Robert Vitek Age 79, passed. Elmer grew up on the North Side of Chicago in the West Lake View neighborhood. Elmer attended St. Andrew’s Grade School and Lane Tech High School. Elmer loved baseball, the Cubs, and Wrigley Field. He enjoyed fishing in the Kishwaukee River during his retirement years. He was an excellent bowler and softball player. Elmer passed down his silly side to his children and grandchildren, as well as his spare change. The claw was his weapon of choice. He loved campy B horror movies and scaring his children while camping. Elmer lost the love of his life, Mary K Vitek on August 24th. They were reunited in death 24 days later. Elmer is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Virginia Vitek, and his brother, Warren. Elmer is survived by his children: Barb Vitek- Gonzalez, Katie (Mohammad) Rashed, and Bob (Beth) Vitek. Surrogate child: Diane LaRocco (Mike) Lentz. Grandchildren: RJ, Nick, Quinn, Grace, and Gavin. Great-grandchildren: Isabella and Arya. Brother, John Freeland (Mary Ann) and sisters: Marilyn (Mick) Stevens and Char (Rick) Lorton. Numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins (Iowa and beyond). Surrogate Family: The Glenn-Donley Family.
