Dolores A. Spence

Dolores Anne Spence “Dody” (nee TenPas) passed away peacefully Sunday, December 3, 2023, at her home in Lake Barrington, IL.

Born in Highland Park, IL, March 18, 1933, she is preceded by her parents Gilbert & Velma (nee Lincoln) TenPas, her son Donald Spence (friend Nancy Holsapple) and granddaughter Jessica Snead.

She is survived by her sons Mark (Sharon) & Glenn (Terry) Spence & daughter Cheryl (John Joe) Cahill, grandchildren; Greg, Desiree, Katie, Carrie (Jason), Rachel (Chuck), Kayla (Ben), Alexandria (Kyle), Jordan & Joy (Riley), great grandchildren Justin, Joey, Kennedy, Cora, Kirstin, Jessica, Eva, Jasmine, Lily & Leia, and great-great grandchild Matilda.

Dolores was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She worked 38 years at Illinois Masonic Hospital as Director of Admitting.  She met and made lifelong friends. Dolores was involved as a girl scout leader, and in book clubs. She was the best of bowlers, loved swimming, traveling, and spending time with family. She was a super fan of the Chicago Bulls. She was loved and cherished by all and will be dearly missed.  In her memory, take a moment this Christmas season to do something special for someone.

Memorial visitation Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 10 am – 1 pm, Service at 1 pm at Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Hwy, Park Ridge. Interment Private.
