David Douglass

David N. Douglass, 72, of Park Ridge, Illinois, passed away on March 3, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Ruth Douglass as well as brothers John (Emily), Robert (Teresa), and Daniel (Holly).   He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Susan; daughters Sara Born, Martha (Eric) Pietsch, and son David (Emily). Proud G-Daddy to Leah, Rachel, and Henry Born, Jonah, Micah, and Clara Pietsch, and Edith, Juniper, and Grady Douglass. Brother to Susan Sandstrom Berkley and Wylie (Ardyth) Douglass. Fun-loving uncle to many. He loved his sweet career in the candy business as well as sailing on Lake Michigan, playing tennis, golf, pickleball, and ping pong.

A memorial service to honor David’s life will be held on Saturday, April 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Park Ridge Community Church, 100 S. Courtland, Park Ridge, IL followed by a celebratory reception in the church’s Great Hall from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m..

Memorial gifts may be given to the Park Ridge Community Church Youth Program where he was a Sunday School teacher and youth group sponsor or The Michael J. Fox Parkinson’s Foundation in David’s name.
