Christopher (Chris/Ogre) O’Gara - aged 48 of Chicago, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully surrounded by his family on March 4, 2021. Chris was born to loving parents, Patricia and the late Donald O’Gara. He graduated from St. Patrick High School and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree from Illinois State University. In 1997 Chris married his college sweetheart and very best friend Michelle (Totman). Together they raised 3 phenomenal children, Danielle, Kaysee and CJ, who are all carrying on their parents’ Illinois State Redbirds tradition. Chris took great pride in serving his devoted clients as a financial advisor in Palos Heights for over 25 years. In his spare time he enjoyed schooling his son, brother, cousins and friends on the golf course, watching Cubs games, grilling and socializing in his yard with so many cherished friends, neighbors and family members. Chris is also survived by his older brother, lifelong tormentor, and fiercest protector Patrick, sister-in-law Laura, and their children Tess & Patrick. Chris was the fond son-in-law of Lee & Pat Totman, brother-in-law of Eileen Rivera and Joe & Heather Totman, and beloved uncle of Morgan, Tess, Hunter & Garret.
He will be greatly missed by the entire O’Maize clan, all his cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, a wide circle of life-long friends and all who knew and loved him Friends and family are encouraged to bring a favorite photo of Chris to share on their memory board. Chris’s family has requested a casual dress visitation, preferably Chicago Cubs attire on Monday, March 8, 2021, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Highway, Park Ridge, IL Funeral Mass Tuesday 11:30 a.m., at St. Juliana Catholic Church, 7201 N Oketo Ave, Chicago, IL.
