Charles McGuire

Charles “Chip” McGuire, age 58, passed away on October 29, 2024 surrounded by family. Chip
is survived by his son, Charles “Jack”, his daughter, Julia, his sisters, Lisa (Saul) Hernandez
and Patti (Bruce) Hart, his former wife Patrizia, his beloved cousins, and his cherished nieces
and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles “Chuck” and Diane McGuire
(nee Renckert), his brother, Kevin McGuire, and his much loved dog, Duke.
Chip was born and raised in Chicago, where he attended St. Andrews School and Lane Tech
High School, and went on to become a proud graduate of Northern Illinois University. There, he
studied communications, with screenwriting becoming one of his earliest passions. He then
went on to achieve a successful career as a commodities broker at the Chicago Mercantile
Exchange. Although very knowledgeable in the stock market and finance, he also had a large
variety of other interests such as current events, history, philosophy, and music.
Chip was very proud of his Chicago roots and Irish heritage. He was an enthusiastic Chicago
sports fan, especially the Cubs, and loved a classic neighborhood hot dog joint. He loved
meeting new people and always took a genuine interest in connecting with others. His very
generous soul was recognized by all, and he provided help to his loved ones in any way that he
could. He loved his children fiercely, and always took any opportunity to talk about how proud he
was of Jack and Julia to anyone that would listen.
Although he faced many battles, the good in his heart was always obvious, and that will live on
in his memory.
A visitation will be held Friday November 8, 2024 10:00am-1:00pm with a service starting at 1:00pm at Cooney Funeral Home located at 625 Busse Hwy. in Park Ridge. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital or the Boys
and Girls Club of Chicago.
