Anne Black Obituary

Anne Terese Black, age 63, of Park Ridge, died quietly and peacefully in the embrace of her tearful family in her childhood home on Saturday, July 2, 2022, eleven days after being diagnosed with cancer.

Anne was born on All Saints Day, November 1,1958 and baptized at St. Paul of the Cross Church in Park Ridge, IL. Anne attended Mary, Seat of Wisdom grade school and graduated from Maine South High School in 1976, where she ran track and swam in the “Marlins”. She attended Northeastern University in Boston and then the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana where she majored in Health Sciences. Anne’s love of travel took her around the U.S. and the globe. She lived in Alaska, Kauai and enjoyed several years in Florida. Her professional life was centered in the travel industry with a career at Delta Airlines. Anne had a ready smile and was tender, reserved, maternal and calm; an older sister adored by her younger brothers and sisters. Sweetness was her outstanding virtue. Anne was a faithful and pious Catholic devoted to the Virgin Mary. Anne’s mother, many sisters and brothers and extended family are heartbroken as her pilgrimage on earth has come to an end.

Devoted daughter of Nancy and the late Robert O. Black. Loving sister of Mary Patrice, Eileen (Tom) Thomas, Kate, Margaret (Meg), Patrick (Mary Frances), Timothy (Susan), Christopher (Eileen Kilroy), Elizabeth, Amy, Tricia, Martin (Rebecca Byrne), Michael, Paul (Sara), Terese, Peter, Roseann (Andrew) Mahieu, and Sharon (Jim) Havey. Caring aunt to 23 nieces and nephews Vincent (Holly), Victoria, Philip and Nathan Thomas; Maggie (Rich) Daniels, Matthew (Mary Rose), Rose and Martin Black; Will and Everett Black; Gabrielle and Edward Black; Robert (Lydia), Owen, Andrew, Lily, Juliette (Joe) Harrington, Madeline Black; Florence and Greta Mahieu; Leo, Oliver and Evelyn Havey.
