Warren A. Laufenberg, age 83, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2023. He was born in Chicago on December 5, 1940, to the late Louis and Elsie (nee Paetsch).

Warren is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 63 years Josephine (nee Speciale); Loving Father of Deborah (Michael Walker), Jeffery, and the late Michael; Cherished Grandfather of Heather Campbell, Jordan (Kendra) Campbell, Alison (Kenneth) Jadczak; Great Grandfather of Daemien, Braeden, Graesen.

Warren worked hard all his life, having several jobs as a child working early mornings, prior to going to grammar school each day or after school selling pencils and programs outside Wrigley Field. He worked many years as a manager of an A & P grocery store located in Chicago before his long career as a construction worker. He loved nature and gardening, winning numerous awards for best yard from the town in which he resided. He loved road trips, taking his family on an annual 2 week vacation to Moon Valley Resort in WI and many camping trips. He enjoyed weekend getaways with his wife to local destinations and annual trips to Bar Harbor ME. and Manistique MI. He had a love for music, especially Johnny Mathis where for decades, he and his wife attended his concerts whenever he was in town. He enjoyed cooking and made the best egg salad, pizza, baked clams, chicken dumpling soup and his famous pumpkin pies. He had a great passion for Chicago sports teams - his lifelong love for the Cubbies came full circle as he was able to experience the joy of the Cubbies winning the World Series in 2016. He instilled in each of his children the importance of doing things right the first time and a strong work ethic. He strived to provide a better quality of life for his family.

Visitation will be held on Thursday December 28, from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Hwy, Park Ridge, IL. Funeral Services will be held on Friday December 29, 11:00 am at Cooney Funeral Home; Entombment to follow at All Saints Cemetery, 700 N. River Rd, Des Plaines, IL.
