Dear brother of the late Mary (Thomas) Burke, Patrick (Catherine), Winifred, Nora, Michael, Daniel, Martin, and surviving brothers Walter (Mary) and John; sisters-in-law Sadie Nally, Mary Nally, Mary McDonagh and Maureen Donnelly; brother-in-law Tom Page. Vincent got off a boat in New York harbor with a grade school education and making the most of his opportunity came to Chicago. He landed a job as an elevator operator at Illinois Bell and retired 38 years later as a senior telephone repairman. He was drafted into the US Army, spent most of his tour in Alaska and earned his GED while in the service. He returned to Chicago, became a US citizen, married Rose Ann and they raised their family in St. Margaret Mary Parish on the Northside. He loved fixing things, working on his cars and was always ready to help a friend or neighbor with a project. Member of IBEW Local 165. Native of Frenchgrove, Hollymount, Co. Mayo, Ireland. Visitation at Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Hwy, Park Ridge on Wednesday from 3 to 9 p.m. Funeral Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Juliana Church.
