Ulick Gerard O'Sullivan, age 82, husband of Catherine (nee O'Sullivan). Loving father of Ulick (Erin), Patrick (Erin), Jerry (Shiho), Maureen (Kevin) Artl, Brendan (Kathleen) and Sheila (Kenneth) Hoffmann. Proud grandfather of Colin, Aidan and Sadie O'Sullivan; Mary, Thomas, Eddie and Seamus O'Sullivan; Akira and Kaela O'Sullivan; Teddy, Cate and Griffin Artl; Rory and Maeve O'Sullivan; and Fiona Hoffmann. Dear brother of Alice (late Neilly) O'Sullivan and the late Shelia, Nancy, Sr. Xavier, Mary, Flor, Jack and Jeremiah. Fond cousin and uncle to many in Ireland, England, Australia and Chicago.

Born in Currans, County Kerry, Ireland, Ulick came to Chicago at 23 years old in August 1965 with $40 in his pocket. An embodiment of the American Dream, he worked hard to support his family, sometimes working three jobs, so he could send his kids to Catholic schools.

He loved Gaelic football and the Kerry GAA (Up the Kingdom!). He spent many years at Gaelic Park, coaching the Chicago Rovers, and watching Gaelic football on Sunday afternoons. He was an active member of the Kerry Association, keeping a strong connection to his family home.

Ulick was a proud IUOE Local 399 engineer, working the night shift at the Daley Center for over 35 years. He helped countless relatives and friends get into the Union and start successful careers of their own.

He loved his grandchildren fiercely and enjoyed attending their games, and school events. He always worked on weekends when his own kids were young and playing sports, so he finally got to enjoy our family "talents" as a grandfather. He loved the kids and bragged about their accomplishments and college acceptances to all his friends at the pub.

Ulick will be missed by family, friends, and all who loved him. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.
