Thomas D. Melzer 87 of Chicago, Il passed away Tuesday, Nov. 22nd 2016. Born in Chicago, January 21, 1929. Survived by his wife of 67 yrs. Elizabeth(Byczynski)Melzer, his children David(Patti), Dennis, Darryl and Kathy (Wayne) Gebis, his loving grandchildren Jennifer, Heather, Courtney, Caryn, Tim, Teresa, Ryan and his many great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, siblings Bob and Julie and sons Douglas and Dan. Tom loved to dance, fish, tell stories and spend time helping his family with many projects. Visitation will be held Friday, November 25th 10am to noon at Cooney Funeral Home, 3918 W. Irving Park Rd, Chicago, 60618. Funeral Service at 12:00 noon.  Interment private. 773-588-5850.
