Sean Patrick Burke

Sean Patrick Burke passed away at his home in Chicago, IL on Sunday, April 5, 2026 at the young and vibrant age of just 30.

Born on April 22, 1995, Sean was a loving son and only child of Patrick Burke & Maria Spurlin, stepson to Edward Cynewski, a fun-loving cousin, the beloved partner of Natalie Domack, a genuine & true best friend to so many, and his favorite role in life – Dog Dad to Bailey.

From the day he entered this world, Sean always left a positive and memorable impression on everyone he touched with his charismatic personality, unmatched sense of humor, and his huge heart.

Known to many as “Burke” (and sometimes “Moose” when the drinks were flowing and country music was playing), Sean brought an energy and light to every occasion – One that will be unduplicated and forever missed by those who were lucky enough to spend time with him. The trail of people who were touched by Sean is endless, as he was truly a man who made friends everywhere he went. From taking solo adventures on random days in the Windy City, to trips with “The Boys” to places like Nashville or Green Bay, Sean would inevitably make a new local connection and somehow gain another best friend in a matter of minutes - Because that’s just the kind of guy he was.

A lifelong athlete and avid sports fan, Sean grew up playing everything from baseball to football and attended North Park University where he was an NCAA varsity athlete and proudly wore #87 playing football – Go Vikings! Sean had a passion for baseball scouting and he carried his love of sports over to coaching youth baseball where he served as an Assistant Coach for the Illinois Valley Predators in 2024. You could always catch Sean at a sporting event and, despite how much he detested Chicago teams, he still managed to be the biggest self-proclaimed Chicago sports fan alive! From Cubs games to the occasional White Sox game (mainly for the food), Bear-ing Down at Soldier Field to cheering on his beloved Blackhawks, Sean was a Chicagoan to his core. The only team that kicked all others to the curb was of course, the Georgia Bulldogs! :::insert classic Burke bark:::

Sean is, and will continue to be, loved tremendously by all who knew him. His legacy will live on in our daily lives, and we’ll honor him by living out the values he believed in most: To make each day a memorable one and to surround yourself with love, laughter, and the people who make life truly special. Oh - and GO, DAWGS!!
