Dr. Ronald L. Watson, 78, of Park Ridge, IL, died Friday, September 4, 2020, at the Sheridan at Park Ridge after a long illness.

Born April 8, 1942, in Logansport, Indiana, he was the son of the late Donald C. and Edna M. "Murphey" Watson.  Ron's wife of 48 years, Joan A. "Hoysack" Watson preceded him in death on April 23, 2020.

Ron was a Doctor of Psychology, and practiced over the years in various clinics in Grand Rapids, MI, and in the Chicago area, and also did private practice in Park Ridge. He was a graduate of Forest Institute of Professional Psychology, Roosevelt University, and Ball State University.

Surviving are daughter Krista (Kim) Watson, Rockwell, NC; two brothers Don A. Watson, Rio Rancho, NM, and Thomas J. (Richard) Watson, Sherman Oaks, CA; sister Elaine K. Padilla, Rio Rancho, NM; sister-in-law Kathryn (Bernie) Hartman, Mason, OH; niece Elizabeth Padilla, and nephews, Matthew Watson, Joshua Padilla, Patrick Hartman, Todd Hartman and Shawn Hartman.

A combined memorial service will be held for both Ron and Joan on May 22, 2021, at Cooney Funeral Home on Busse Hwy, Park Ridge, with reception at 11a and services at 12n. For more information, visit www.cooneyfuneralhome.com
