Richard P. Long Sr. (82), deceased December 12, 2014. Beloved husband of nearly 60 years to the late Dora (Fitzpatrick) (Fritz) Long. Born in Bethlehem, PA, graduated from Lehigh University, worked for Bethlehem Steel, and last worked for MetLife. He and his family moved to Valparaiso, Indiana in 1964, and eventually settled in the Chicago area in 1976. He and Dora later retired to Largo, FL in 1997. Richard's Catholic faith was very important to him, and he eventually joined Opus Dei, of which he was a member for over 45 years. Preceded in death by his parents Michael and Catherine (Berger) Long and his six older siblings, Anne (Wolfe), Catherine (Hussar), Robert, William, Malvena (Bauer), and Michael. Loving father of Richard Jr. (Victoria), Daniel (Amy), Diane (Laurence) Madison, Barbara (W. Michael) Ross, Mary (David) Rossi, David (Ann), Timothy, Patricia (John) Whaley, the late Edward, Raymond, Andrew (Maria) and John (Bridgid).
