René Lucien Laude Hernandez, 94, died Sunday, July 11, 2021 in Park Ridge, IL following complications from a medical procedure.

He leaves his wife of 68 years, Gina Rosa (Suarez Cademartori), his 5 children, Gina Metelica (Ross Hill) René (Sue), Rosanna (Daniel Carroll) Monica Hansen (Steve), and Veronica Noland (Mike); his 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and much extended family.

Born in Valparaiso, Chile on November 13, 1926, Mr Laude lived in Santiago and other locations in Chile before emigrating to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1963, and later settling in the Chicagoland area.

Mr Laude was a mechanical engineer and had a 40 year career in industrial refrigeration manufacturing, which included working for APV Crepaco in Chicago, as well as many years with his own businesses in Addison, IL and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Always sharing his knowledge, Mr Laude was known to never be without a pen so that he could make a quick drawing on the nearest slip of paper or napkin.

Visitation will be held on Thursday 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Park Ridge Presbyterian Church located at 1300 W. Crescent Ave. in Park Ridge. Interment on Friday will be private at Mount Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.
