Philip James Murphy, 84, of Park Ridge, Illinois and Washington Island, Wisconsin passed away at home with family after a four-year battle with cancer on February 23, 2021. He was born July 14, 1936 in Chicago.

Beloved husband for 62 years of Norine (nee McSweeney), loving father of Colleen (David) Miller, Honorable Laura Murphy (Michael Jekot), James (Patricia) Murphy, MaryEllen McLenighan and Daniel (Eileen) Murphy. Cherished grand-father to 9. Great grand-father to 6 and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents James and Marion (nee Serrar) Murphy, sister-Patricia Wild and brother-in-law William Wild.

Phil was a lifelong member of IBEW 134 and proud Naval Reserve Veteran. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at Cooney Funeral Home located at 625 Busse Hwy. in Park Ridge going to St. Juliana Church for Mass at 11:30 a.m. Interment private.
