Peter A. Panos- beloved son, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on May 11, 2013.  Peter was born on March 25, 1927 to Anthony and Kyriakitsa Panos in his beloved and often talked about country of Chatista, Albania.  At the age of 16, he came to America alone on a Naval  ship, landing in New York and took a train to Chicago for a better life.  He was a Korean Army War Veteran and awarded 2 Bronze Stars.  He is survived by his children Yana (the late Sam) Spedale, Anthony (Elizabeth), Marina, and George (Kim), his grandchildren Christian, Lisa, Peter, Yuvonne, Alexander, Zoe and Monica and great-grandchildren Chelsea, Conner, Hayden, Madelyn, Chloe, Logan, Brody, Caylee, Penelope and Wyatt.  He is also survived by many family and friends.  He will be greatly missed but will live on through his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and always remain forever in our hearts.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in his honor to the Wounded Warriors Project would be greatly appreciated.  Visitation Tuesday from 3-8 p.m. at Cooney Funeral Home 625 Busse Hwy Park Ridge.  Funeral service Wednesday 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  Interment Private.  Info 847-685-1002.
