Peter O'Brien, 91, of Rolling Meadows, Illinois, passed away Tuesday February 23, 2021. Cherished husband of the late Mary P. O'Brien (Lydon/Cotter), beloved brother of Kathleen Lee (O'Brien)and the late Robert O'Brien. Pete was born on March 6, 1929 in Glasgow, Scotland, the son of the late James and Mary O'Brien and was later raised in Armagh, Ireland by his loving aunt and uncle Margaret (Hughes) and James Connelly. Pete is survived by his stepchildren Anne Cotter, Maureen Cotter (Ned Senghas) and John Cotter (Bonnie Swift) and his adoring grandchildren, Timothy Cotter, Ryan Minato, Kelli Ann Cotter, Erin Cotter and Quinn Minato as well as many nieces and nephews. Longtime parishioner of Saint Andrews, Chicago, IL, Saint Monica, Chicago, IL and St. Colette, Rolling Meadows, Illinois. Pete was active at the Irish Heritage Center and an avid dancer at many socials and dances. Pete was a thirty plus year employee of Sears Roebuck in Skokie Illinois and worked on new store set up and merchandising never having taken a sick day. Visitation is on Saturday February 27, 2021 from 9 am to 11 am at Cooney Funeral Home in Park Ridge, Illinois and Funeral Mass is at 11:30 am St. Colette Church, Rolling Meadows, Illinois.
