Peter David Deri, 59 of Diamond Lake. With a heavy heart we announce his passing after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer. He passed peacefully surrounded by family. Beloved, thoughtful and loyal husband to Barb (nee Murphy). Proud, loving and devoted father of Chris and Alli. Loving patriarch to many furry family members. Cherished son of Joan and the late Mario Deri. Loving brother of Melinda (Tom) Wolf, Debbie (Larry) Kemnetz, and Lisa (Scott) Reese. Loved brother-in-law to the late George (Jill) Murphy, Mary Beth (Bob) Mikelson, John (Vicky) Murphy, Susan (Seamus) Reid, Patty (Terry) McTague, and Peggy (Adam) Luchowski. Proud uncle to Theresa and Rebecca Murphy, Kristin and Erick Mikelson, Sara, Bridget, Katie and Colleen Murphy, Siobhan, Fiona and Seamus Reid, Sean, Brian and Eileen McTague, Megan and Wendy Luchowski, Erin and Caitlin Wolf, Jennifer, Emily and Matthew Kemnetz, and Elizabeth and Vanessa Reese. Caring nephew and cousin to Emma and Martin Harty and family.
Peter grew up in Chicago and attended Sullivan High School and Loyola University. Pete enjoyed a lifetime of boating and being on the water, creating a successful career out of his love of boats while developing many lasting friendships. His dedicated love for his furry family members gave him and those he shared them with a great deal of joy and purpose. Pete enjoyed volunteering at Make-A-Wish, Feed My Starving Children and supporting animal interests.
He enjoyed a lifetime of love and laughter, and lived by the philosophy of "Work Hard, Play Often, Love Fiercely". The world is smaller for his passing. He will be greatly missed.
