Peter Edward Cronin, 62, peacefully passed away on June 18, 2026, on what would have been the 71st wedding anniversary of his beloved parents, the late Godfrey Edward ("Gotch") and Margaret ("Therese") Cronin. He was the cherished brother of Godfrey (Tommy) Cronin (Retired CPD) and brother-in-law of Theresa. Born with Down syndrome, Peter began his life's journey under the loving care of Mr. and Mrs. Evans, who taught him the daily skills many take for granted. Peter later moved into a Cornerstone home, where he was supported by dear friends and caregivers, notably Carol Mobley. In 2012, Peter moved to his "forever home," Park Ridge Healthcare Center, where he truly thrived. Peter always met you with a warm smile and thoroughly enjoyed teasing Tommy by calling him “Goofy” every chance he got. A passionate fan of all Chicago sports, he cheered loudest for the Bears and the Bulls. Peter also had a deep love for music, happily playing Michael Jackson on his Walkman until the batteries went completely dead. Peter always looked forward to visits from his brother Tommy and Theresa and he cherished the endless high fives he received from his around-the-clock caregivers after enjoying the regular pizza parties hosted by Tommy and Theresa.
