Paul Michael Ward, 61, of Elgin, Ill., died peacefully at his home on February 25, 2017. Paul was born in Chicago on November 6, 1955, to Margaret and Michael Ward. He attended Gordon Technical High School and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from DePaul University before going on to serve as a market manager at Jewel Foods for several decades.  In his free-time, Paul enjoyed golfing, adored aviation, was a loyal friend of Bill W., and passionately rooted for his beloved World Series Champion Chicago Cubs. Paul is survived by his loving mother, Margaret (nee Cunningham), sons, Sean and Ryan (Elizabeth), sisters, Kathleen, Mary, Maureen (Ken) Warner, Theresa and Nancy, nephews, Steven and Liam, and friend and former wife, Debbie.  Paul will also be missed by many aunts, uncles and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cooney Funeral Home, located at 625 Busse Highway, Park Ridge, IL 60068. Paul's kind eyes, sense of humor, and quiet strength will be missed by those who survived him.  Donations in Paul's memory can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
