Patrick "Paddy" Lyons, age 72, of Chicago. Beloved husband of Darlene (Clark) Lyons, passed away on Monday June 13th, 2022. Paddy was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Ann Lyons. Paddy grew up in the shadows of Wrigley Field, later moving to Rodgers Park and finally settling down in Edison Park to raise his family. Paddy was cherished by his children Megan (George) Panothiocas, Austin (Lauren) Lyons, Nora (Scott) Dodaro and Patsy (Stan) Vinokur. Paddy was adored by his eight siblings. Paddy was brother to Maureen (the late Tom) Carroll, the late Bridget Lyons Miksis, Nora (the late Charles) Palmore, Kathleen (the late Tony) Barone, Tommy (Rita) Lyons, Terry (Shelia) Lyons, Eilleen (Kevin) Hughes, and Bernie (Mary) Lyons. Paddy was always fortunate to have married into the Clark Family. He will be missed dearly by Nancy and the late Jim Clark, Diane (Mike) Dennis, Dawn (Pat Lyman) Clark, Denise (Tessie Sanchez) Clark, Jay Clark and Deirdre (Cesar) Garcia. Paddy's greatest joy was his grandchildren who affectionately gave him the name, PoPo. His grandchildren Conall, Tony & Ronin Dodaro, Andrew & Patrick Panothiocas, Eleanor, Sadie & Mickey Lyons and Hazel Vinokur always brought a smile to PoPo's face. He will be dearly missed and they will carry his memory with forever. Paddy was a natural leader and loved being part of such a large and loving family. Dad loved his time on the golf course with all this brothers, cousins, nephews, his many friends and Darlene. He cherished serving up burgers and drinks at the Double Bubble and later entering into a career in law enforcement. He joined the Winnetka Police Department retiring as a Lieutenant after 20 years of service. He was never one to slow down and in retirement he joined the Mount Prospect Police Department and worked several more years. He was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Paddy was loved by all his cousins here in Chicago and in Ireland. Paddy was a loyal friend to so many. He will be forever missed and remembered by all who knew him. He was a One of a Kind and will live in our hearts forever. Visitation will be held on Thursday from from 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Cooney Funeral Home located at 625 Busse Hwy. in Park Ridge. Funeral Friday, family and friends to meet at St. Paul of the Cross, 320 S Washington St. in Park Ridge for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment private.
