Patricia J. Mitchell, "Pat," age 85, passed away on the morning of December 25.
She was the dearest mother of Christopher (Chardonnee) and Sarah, and grandmother, "Gigi," to Marleigh and Kingston.
Pat was born in Blue Island, Illinois to Henry and Winnie Goldman. She has four younger siblings, Peg (Bill) Burke, Penny (Mike) Schmitz, Ken Goldman, and Alice Bushman. She has many nieces and nephews who she loved deeply.
Pat and her siblings grew up on a farm and later moved to the town of Earlville, Illinois. After completing nurses training, she spent many years living in London, England where she worked at the Kuwait Embassy and tended bar. She then moved to Chicago, Illinois where she was a registered nurse and raised her two children. She later became a Technology Teacher at Field Elementary School in Park Ridge until she retired.
Pat loved gardening, cooking, traveling, and being outdoors. She is remembered fondly by friends and family as being strong, independent, and caring. Her favorite times were those spent with her grandchildren. Pat was proud of and devoted to her family and friends, and leaves behind a legacy that will never be forgotten.
A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 2:00-5:00 pm, with a 5:00 pm service. Both will be held at The Bridge Community Church, 946 E. Thacker Street, Des Plaines, Illinois.
