Patricia Ann McNamara-age 89, beloved wife of the late John Romancik, daughter of the late Ann (nee Boyle) and Michael J. McNamara; sister of Theresa (Norfie) Diciolla, Shelia (the late James) Bies, the late Margaret (the late Roy) Nielsen, the late Michael (the late Josephine) McNamara, and the late Bernadette (the late Joseph) Campion; adored aunt to many nieces and nephews; treasured friend to countless others.  Surrounded by loved ones, Pat passed away peacefully, leaving behind a life filled with laughter, love, and adventure.  A proud and passionate lover of Ireland, Pat cherished her heritage deeply.  Her heart was always a little bit across the ocean.  One glance at the contents of the trunk of her car would tell you that Pat loved playing tennis, sunny days on the golf course and hitting the slopes.  She was prepared for all activities at any time.  Pat was frequently found trying  new restaurants with family and friends while savoring a gin martini, up, no vermouth-olive on the side.  "Auntie Pat" was more than just a title; it was a role she lived with immense love and pride.  She was a second mother to her many nieces and nephews, always ready for an adventure and bit of good-hearted mischief.    Pat's spirit was larger than life, and her generosity and humor will be her lasting legacy.  Her absence leaves an unfillable space, but her memory will continue to bring smiles and laughter.  Many thanks for Mable Townsend for all the care and love provided to Pat and John.  Visitation Monday May 5 from 4-9 p.m. at Cooney Funeral Home located at 625 Busse Hwy in Park Ridge.   Funeral service Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
