Sir, Patricia Mary (nee Cassin) It is with great sadness and love that we announce that the Lord sent his Angels on Good Friday, April 3, for our beloved Patricia Sir to take her to Eternal Peace. Patricia Mary Sir was born in Chicago and raised in St. William's parish in the Montclare neighborhood of Chicago by her parents, James Howard and Olive Cassin. She was a Trinity High School graduate and attended Quincy College, where she met her beloved husband, Bernard Sir. Patricia and Bernie were married October 22, 1960 and raised three loving children, Brian(Nadine), Colleen Prendergast(Gerald), and Michael. Patricia was passionate about helping to develop and formulate the values of children and teenagers and returned to school and completed her educational degree requirements in 1978 at Lourdes College. She taught at, among other Catholic institutions, St. Benedict's , Our Lady of Ransom and Sacred Heart of Mary. She found teaching religious studies to high school girls to be very rewarding and many woman today have been fortunate to have her contribute to their development. Patricia will be remembered by family and friends for her caring, cheerful and selfless personality, which never changed even as her physical health deteriorated over the past 20 plus years. Besides Bernie, her children and their spouses, Patricia is survived and was the adoring grandmother of Alex, Brian, Haleigh, Matthew,Brendan and Grace. Patricia also was proud to be considered, and was lovingly accepted as, a grandmother to Katherine and Margaret Gaa, the daughters of a very close friend. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Cassin, and was the dear sister in law of Adrienne Cassin Scheuneman and Kathleen Keane Buckley(Ken), loving Aunt of Michael(Cindy), late Daniel(Mary), Jeffrey(Chris) and Terrence(Rae) Cassin, late Carolyn Keane Hahn, late Michael and Maureen Keane. Visitation will be held from 3pm to 9pm on Friday, April 10 at Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Hwy, Park Ridge. Funeral Saturday April 11 from funeral home at 10:30am to Mary Seat of Wisdom Church, 920W. Granville, Park Ridge for 11am mass. Patricia was an admirer and benefactor of the Monastery of Discalced Carmelites Order of Sisters. Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to the Order at 949 N. River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60016.
