Mireyda Samaniego, cherished wife, mother to all, beloved sister, daughter and friend died peacefully on March 17th 2025 at the age of 73. For her family, her highest priority, she battled leukemia courageously. She never stopped caring for her loved ones and fought for as long as she could, for us. She will always be our guiding light.
Mireyda was born on January 29th 1952 in a small town in Mexico; Sabinas Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon. She traveled to the states at a young age with her parents Santos and Estefana Mireles. Her parents and 10 brothers and sisters lived in Laredo, Texas for many years. As a young adult she traveled north with siblings, all working to help support the large family. While residing in Franklin Park, she met her partner in life, Argelio Samaniego and the two were happily married for 50 years. They bravely navigated this life together in a place so far away from their birthplaces, the people here so different from back home. They created a family that will continue to grow, made life-long friends, ran a successful drywall business for almost 40 years and planted roots in Park Ridge. Hand in hand, they built a beautiful life.
Mireyda is survived by her husband Argelio and their 3 children: Lorena (George Lagis), Argelio Jr. (Sandra Gonzalez), Sofia (Carlos DeLeon) and her 8 grandchildren, Alekos, Jose, Maximos, Elena, Angelo, Amelia, Benicio and Maite. She loved our big chaotic get-together's with the grandkids running around and the peaceful countryside with her husband on the weekends. Thanks be to God, she was able to enjoy the peaceful countryside one final time the last weekend of her life.
