Mildred McNicholas (nee Paisley), 87, passed away at home surrounded by her family.  Devoted wife of the late Thomas (Ret. CFD).  Cherished mother of Peggy, Jack (CPD) (Eileen CPD), Coleen (Al) Janiszewski,  Mary Beth (Ed) Alswede, Michael (Jeanette) and the late Timothy.  Adoring grandma of Tom McNicholas (CFD). Tim, Dan, Jim, Meghan and the late Lindsay Janiszewski: Kelly and Elyse Alswede. Loving aunt and friend to many.  Millie loved family, cooking and reading, especially her beloved Encyclopedias.  Millie was raised in Michigan and married an avid Notre Dame football fan.  She and Tom always enjoyed an amusing rivalry between Michigan State and Notre Dame.  The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her loving caregivers, Margaret, Frances, Bridie and Bernie.  Visitation will be Friday 4-9 p.m. at Cooney Funeral Home 625 Busse Hwy Park Ridge.  Funeral Saturday 11 a.m. to St. Paul of the Cross Church for 11:30 mass.  Interment Maryhill Cemetery.  Info 847-685-1002
