Michael Patrick Wrenn, age 93, of Chicago, Illinois (Rogers Park) passed away on June 16, 2022. Beloved husband to the late Gloria. Loving dad to Michael Joseph, the late Grace Anne Gaughan (Michael), Charles Francis (Dawn), Catherine Gloria, and loving grandpa to Nora Kathleen. Honored alum of St. Ignatius Grammar School (1943), Loyola Academy (1947) and Loyola University Chicago (1951). He proudly served in the Illinois Army National Guard 698 AAA Gun Battalion during the Korean War. In 1954, he began a distinguished career of 37 years in the Chicago Public Schools and retired in 1990 as Director of Employee Relations. He enjoyed spending time on the Southside with his favorite team, the Chicago White Sox, at St. Ignatius Parish where he was the commissioner of the Sunday Softball Association, as well as traveling and vacationing in Florida, playing golf, and getting together with his large extended Wrenn family of dear cousins especially the late Leo F. Wrenn (Gilda), the late John P. and Patricia A. Wrenn and the late Peter J. Wrenn (Joan). Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Anna Wrenn, sister, Sr. Anna Wrenn, OSB, and brother Thomas F. Wrenn (Anne). Visitation is Tuesday June 21, 2022 (3-8 PM) at Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Hwy, Park Ridge, IL. A funeral Mass is Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 10 AM, family and friends are to meet at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 6559 North Glenwood Avenue, Chicago, IL.
