Michael E McCaffrey, (Eamon) was born on January 25th, 1964 in Cloontuskert, Co. Roscommon, Ireland. He passed away at his home in Des Plaines, IL on June 14, 2025 at the age of 61. Eamon was the son of the late Michael "Eamon" McCaffrey, and AnnaMarie McCaffrey. Eamon was a dear brother to his siblings Tony (Liz), Damian, Shane (Gail), and Shirley McCormack (Joe). Eamon was an incredible father to Danny, Kyle and Maeve, their mother Sheila was a dear friend. He also will be missed by his loving partner Helen. Eamon was a proud grandfather to his only grandson Cillian McCaffrey. He was an uncle to nieces and nephews and a very special man to many friends.

Eamon came to Chicago at only 22 years old in 1986 to find work and better his life. He was a talented carpenter specializing in building decks, and trim work. He later continued to work as a stationary engineer at Loew's Hotel in Rosemont.  He created a life that he loved. This included hunting, fishing, taking pictures of wildlife, enjoying a sweet treat or two, and spending time with the ones he loved most. Eamon will be dearly missed by his loving children, family and many great friends.
