Mel J. Panek "Joe" –Lifelong partner and best friend of Lisa (nee Veller); devoted father of Joey (Tina), Melissa (Tim) Garcia, and Tommy (Kristen); proud and cherished grandfather of Ella and Hunter Panek, Hailey and Cassidy Garcia, and Riley Panek; beloved son of Nancy (nee Callahan) and the late Mel Panek; fond brother of Donna (Vic) Berzins, Cheryl (Wally) Schreiman, and Carolyn (Jim) Harrity; dear nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend of many.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Juliana Church located at 7201 N. Oketo Ave. in Chicago. Interment private.
