Obituary

Mary Ann (Flanagan) Mangan, born in Barnahawna, Tourmakeady, County Mayo, Ireland October 3rd, 1927 and resident of Niles, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Holy Thursday night, April 9th, 2020. Loving wife of Eugene Mangan for 60 years; cherished mother to James "Jimmy" (Christin) and the late Maureen (Mark) Prellberg; grandmother to Brendan and Sean Mangan, Jessica and Morgan Prellberg. Devoted and loving daughter to the late Mary and Michael Flanagan, Tourmakeady, County Mayo; cherished sister of Eileen (Paddy) (Duffy), her late twin Brother Mark (Eileen), Flanagan late Brothers Patrick "Pakey" (Mary), Flanagan William "Willy", Flanagan and Jimmy; Flanagan. loved Aunt of many nieces and nephews, Maura Duffy, Tom (Cathy) Duffy, and  Breda Duffy, Ann (John) Lucy, Bernie (Niall), O'Hare, Noreen (Duffy), Jimmy (Bernie), Flanagan, Mary Ellen (Seamus) Heaney, Mark (Aileen) Flanagan, Luke (Shirley),  Flanagan, Michael Flanagan, Maura Flanagan, Jimmy, (Willow) Flanagan and the late Johnny Flanagan.

Beyond her deep love for her family, Mary was a devoted Catholic and servant of our Lord; she was loved and adored by so many and sometimes known to her friends as "Irish Mary". In her life she always wanted to share selflessly, she was a volunteer helping the elderly for over 35 years, she loved her family and Ireland dearly and her wish was to get "home" one last time to Ireland as she grew older.
