Mary Denise Elliott, Age 65, was born December 19, 1953 and passed away on May 28, 2019. Beloved daughter of Edward and Artha Elliott; Cherished sister of Edward "Boppie" Elliott (deceased) and sister in law Bobbie; Diane Elliott(deceased) and brother in law Stanley (deceased); James Elliott (deceased) and sister in law Karolyn; Elizabeth Elliott and William Elliott. Longtime dear friend to Anita Friedrich and Marty Dreisbach. Aunt of Jennifer, Shannon, Christopher, Ed, Laura, Rebecca, Jeff (deceased), Barb, Keith, Pat, Jim, Jill, Jessica and Jack. Lover of animals. Mary worked at the USPS for 43 years and had many wonderful friends there. Her dear friend Anita Friedrich sat behind her in Resurrection High School homeroom and has been in her life since. Her longtime confidant and loyal friend Marty Dreisbach never missed an opportunity to love and help her. Her nieces and nephew Jennifer, Shannon and Chris Bemben and their mother Diane (deceased) lived nearby and were special friends and gave Mary of their time and heart. Together with her surviving siblings Izzie and Bill, the three of them shared famiy times and a special bond from having experienced the death of their parents at a very young age. Above all, Mary loved animals unconditionally. She never hesitated to adopt a dog or cat even if they were visually or physically challenged. Mary is now in a place where her numerous pets are gratefully welcoming her. Their names are Twilly, Whitey, Frankie, Cooney, Matilda, Sadie, Scarlett, Coconut, Ava, Abbey, Mabel, Cody Puppy, Rocky, Hyrem, Sweetie, Elmo, Bearsy, Woofy, Dodger, Daphne and Oscar. Mary was a unique human being. She was vulnerable and sensitive, and yet could be strong-willed with her own way of doing things. She battled Rheumatoid Arthritis for 40 years and despite her pain and limited movement, she would help others if possible. Mary was known to those close to her for having a variety of facial expressions that spontaneously arose whenever she was delighted or disapproving of what was happening around her. Mary liked Indian buffets, lemon bars and chocolate milk and all will be served on Friday. Viewing is June 7th, 2019 at Cooney Funeral Home 625 Busse Highway Park Ridge, IL 60068 from 3pm to 5:30pm. Memorial is 5:30-6:00 and will be facilitated by family and friends so if you have a special story to tell about Mary please share it. A dinner to celebrate Mary's life to follow.
